Vagus Nerve Stimulation

Overview

VNS systems are developed to provide electrical stimulation to the left vagus nerve for the modulation of abnormal neuronal activity associated with neurological disorders. By suppressing excessive neural activity and regulating neural signaling pathways, these systems are primarily used for the treatment of drug-resistant epilepsy, helping reduce seizure frequency in patients who achieve inadequate control with standard anti-seizure medications. We continuously advanced our VNS systems through iterative improvements in stimulation precision, sensing capabilities, rechargeability and MRI compatibility.

Mechanism of Neural Interaction

By delivering electrical stimulation pulses to the left cervical vagus nerve, our VNS systems modulate neural activity and reduce abnormal electrical discharges in the brain associated with epilepsy, thereby helping to control symptoms and decrease seizure frequency. The following diagram illustrates the working mechanism of our VNS systems.
